Slow Prompting.
§ 01 / Manifesto
The case for slowness.
“Every prompt is a decision.
Make it count.”The Slow Prompting Manifesto, § 1
We live in the age of infinite output. AI can generate anything, instantly, endlessly. But speed without intention is just noise with better grammar.
Slow Prompting is not anti-AI. It’s pro-craft. It asks one simple question before every prompt: do I actually need this?

§ 03 / Ten Principles
Ten principles, in no hurry.
01
Intention before instruction.
Before writing the prompt, ask yourself: what do I really need this for?
02
One goal per conversation.
Scattered conversations produce scattered outputs. Focus first.
03
Review before you execute.
Read the full output before using it. Fluency is not a guarantee of quality.
04
Your prompt is your signature.
What you ask says who you are. Take care with language, precision, intention.
05
Don’t delegate judgment, only execution.
AI executes. You decide. Never the other way around.
06
Document what works.
A good prompt is craftsmanship. Save it, improve it, share it.
07
Distrust fluency.
The text that sounds perfect may be the emptiest. Friction is information.
08
Explicit context over implicit.
Don’t assume AI knows. Tell it everything. Context is the craft.
09
Amplify yourself, don’t replace yourself.
Amplification of your voice, not substitution of your judgment.
10
The pause is part of the process.
Before the prompt. After the output. The pause is not wasted time.
